The pharmacy at Berinsfield opened in 2007. Originally it formed part of the adjoining Health Centre with which it shares its ancestry.
There has been a medical practice in the area for over 100 years and until the pharmacy opened the local doctors dispensed to their patients, initially from a surgery in Dorchester-on-Thames and then from the present Health Centre when the medical partnership relocated there in 1970. The practice has always been committed to a service of high quality delivered by a team of health professionals.
Changes in the pattern of illness with the increasing prevalence of long term conditions and rising numbers of elderly people in our society led to the development of the Pharmacy and with it the opportunity to introduce a range of new services under the supervision of a Superintendent Pharmacist.
The doctors and nurses at the Health Centre continue to work closely with the Pharmacist and the dispensing team and this harmonious co-operation ensures that an efficient and comprehensive service can be offered to both patients of the Berinsfield practice and members of the public who are registered with doctors elsewhere.
